Nabiullina assessed the impact of UAV attacks on logistics centers in Russia

The impact of drone strikes on logistics centers on inflation will depend on whether the disruptions will lead to a steady increase in prices. This was announced on July 24 by the Chairman of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, Elvira Nabiullina, at a press conference following the meeting of the regulator.

"It is very important for us whether these supply shocks translate into an increase in the sustainable components of inflation. That is, whether they have such secondary effects that will force us to respond with monetary policy measures," she said.

The head of the Central Bank stressed that temporary supply disruptions do not always require a change in monetary policy. According to her, if the consequences of such shocks are gradually exhausted, the regulator may not respond to them with additional measures.

Nabiullina noted that when making decisions, the Bank of Russia focuses primarily on stable inflation rates. According to the regulator, they currently remain in the range of 4-5%.

Since the end of May, the number of attacks by Ukrainian UAVs on residential buildings, schools, and energy facilities has increased 1.5 times.

On the same day, UAVs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) attacked two logistics centers of the Wildberries marketplace in the Leningrad region — in Shushary and Utkina Zavody. The facilities have stopped working. In addition, the company's warehouse in Simferopol was hit at night — an evacuation was announced there.

The Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case on a terrorist attack on Wildberries centers in the Leningrad region. The company itself reported that some of the space and goods in the warehouses were saved thanks to the actions of employees. There are no casualties among the employees of the logistics centers.

This is the third attack in a week: on the night of July 18, warehouses in Elektrostal near Moscow and Kotovsk in the Tambov region were attacked by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and on the night of July 22, logistics centers in Nevinnomyssk and Krasnodar were attacked. The head of Wildberries, Tatiana Kim, promised on July 22 that small entrepreneurs whose goods were damaged in the attack on the warehouse in Elektrostal would receive the first payments. The measure should cover about 88 thousand people. Kim called the safety of people the company's priority, adding that the attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces showed the coherence of the operational services.
