China has taken measures in response to the 21st package of EU anti-Russian sanctions

China has added 14 European companies to the export control list in response to the 21st package of sanctions against Russia. This was announced on July 23 by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China.

"In order to protect national security, the interests of the country and fulfill international obligations, including non—proliferation measures, we have decided to add these entities to the export control list," the ministry said in a statement on its website.

The decision was made in accordance with the PRC's export control legislation, including the "Export Control Law" and the "Regulation on Export Control of Dual-use Goods."

Brussels has abandoned some of the restrictive measures due to extensive internal disagreements.

On July 23, the EU Council approved the 21st package of sanctions against Russia, which includes restrictions on 48 individuals, 170 organizations, as well as 94 Russian banks and large financial institutions. For the first time, the European Union has introduced a mechanism that allows it to completely ban the provision of services related to crypto assets by foreign crypto platforms, which, according to Brussels, allegedly help the Russian Federation circumvent restrictions.
