American actress Kaylee Hottle, who gained fame for her role as the girl Gia in the blockbusters "Godzilla vs Kong" and "Godzilla and Kong: The New Empire", died in an accident in Maryland. This was reported by The Guardian newspaper on July 21.

Information about the death of the 18-year-old actress was confirmed by her father Joshua. He posted a video message in American sign language, as all members of the Hottle family are hard of hearing. The tragedy occurred in the city of Frederick. Representatives of the Texas School for the Deaf, where the girl studied, also expressed their condolences to the relatives of the deceased.

Kaylee Hottle became famous in 2021 after the release of the first part of the confrontation between Godzilla and Kong. She played the role of a deaf-mute orphan who has established a unique bond with a giant gorilla. Co-stars Rebecca Hall and Alexander Skarsgard specially learned sign language to communicate with the young actress without intermediaries.

The actress also starred in the sequel "Godzilla and Kong: The New Empire", released in 2024. For this work, she was nominated for the Saturn Award in the Best Role of a Young Actor category.

In addition to participating in large-scale film franchises, Kaylee Hottle starred in commercials and appeared in one of the episodes of the updated series "Private Detective Magnum".
