On July 19, Sergey Kolunov, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Construction and Housing and Communal Services, explained the procedure for using the house territory for a vegetable garden.

"It is possible to set up a vegetable garden on the territory of an apartment building, but for this it is necessary to obtain consent at a meeting of the owners. First of all, you need to understand which land plot belongs to the house, where its boundaries are and whether there are any restrictions on use," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

According to him, this is possible only on condition that the land is on cadastral registration with permitted use, allowing for landscaping, and the consent of the owners has been obtained at the general meeting.

Kolunov noted that to make a decision, it is required to get at least two-thirds of the votes of the total number of owners. The minutes of the meeting should specify who is allocated space and which crops are allowed to grow. He also stressed that the use of land without the approval of the OSS is an unauthorized seizure and is not allowed.

Igor Yefimkin, director of the Sulange ornamental plant nursery, told on July 7 how to protect a garden plot from a Spanish slug. He noted that the slug is considered one of the most dangerous pests for gardens and vegetable gardens, but it cannot be called completely invulnerable. Although it is almost impossible to get rid of it in one season, regular prevention and an integrated approach can significantly reduce the number of shellfish and protect plants.
