LDPR leader Leonid Slutsky proposed to abolish the current limit of allowances for employees of the federal fire service for participation in firefighting and increase the maximum amount of payments to 100% of the official salary, depending on the complexity of the fire. He sent a corresponding appeal to the Minister of Emergency Situations Alexander Kurenkov, TASS reported on July 18.

It is specified that currently, for each day of participation in the elimination of fires of the third and higher rank, employees receive a 2% salary supplement. At the same time, the total amount of additional payments is limited to 20% of the official salary per month.

"The Liberal Democratic Party demands that the restriction be completely lifted and a surcharge of up to 100% be paid, taking into account the actual complexity of the work and the time spent on extinguishing the fire. Firefighters give their health and risk their lives for us, and we are obliged to guarantee them an honest, decent reward for their daily heroism," Slutsky explained in an interview with the agency.

According to the parliamentarian, the current system does not take into account the real complexity of the tasks. As a result, work on fires of the third and fifth categories is paid equally, despite the different risk levels and workload.

The leader of the Liberal Democratic Party stressed that the abolition of the existing limit would make the wage system more equitable and help to retain qualified personnel in the Ministry of Emergency Situations. In his opinion, the measure will become an additional incentive for employees during the forest fire season and will increase the overall effectiveness of fire fighting.

On June 21, State Duma deputies headed by Yaroslav Nilov, Chairman of the Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs, proposed fixing minimum wage guarantees for full-time medical workers. It is noted that the measure is aimed at ensuring a decent level of wages and the formation of an understandable system of guarantees for health workers. The MP stressed that linking to the federal minimum wage would create a single and transparent wage benchmark across the country.
