Production designer Sergey Ivanov died at the age of 65.

Sergei Ivanov, a production designer and member of the Union of Cinematographers of Russia, died at the age of 66. This was announced on July 17 by the press service of the Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation.

"On July 17, 2026, Sergei Vladimirovich Ivanov (1961-2026), a production designer and member of the Union of Cinematographers of Russia, passed away. <...> His fellow cinematographers will remember him as a bright, virtuoso professional and a wonderful person. Bright memory," the Telegram channel says.

Ivanov was born in 1961 in Moscow, graduated from the art faculty of VGIK. Since 1989, he has worked as a production designer at the Mosfilm film studio. His filmography includes more than 30 works, including "The Land of the Deaf", "The Tsar", "Anna Karenina", "Stalingrad" and others.

He was the winner of the Golden Eagle Film Award for the best work of a production designer in the film Stalingrad, and also received awards three times for his work in the films Promised Heaven, Tsar and Stalingrad.
