Childhood and education

Svetlana Anatolyevna Maslyakova (nee Smirnova) was born on October 11, 1947 in Moscow. After graduating from high school, she began to combine her work in television with higher education. In 1972, Svetlana Maslyakova completed her studies at the All-Union Correspondence Law Institute.

Early career

Svetlana Maslyakova's professional career on television began in 1966. She was accepted into the youth editorial office of the Central Television of the USSR as an assistant director. Almost immediately, she began working as part of the creative team of the KVN program, which was gaining popularity at that time. It was on the set that she met her future husband.

Professional achievements

After the closure of KVN in 1972, Svetlana Maslyakova continued to work in the structures of Central Television. In 1986, when it was decided to revive the program, she took over as director of KVN.

In this position, she was responsible for the visual implementation of the project, staging broadcasts and working with teams. Her work contributed to the transformation of KVN from a youth program into a large-scale television show and an international movement. Under Maslyakova's leadership, a recognizable style of the program was formed, which was preserved over the years.

After the death of her husband in 2024, she remained one of the key figures in the AMiK project management structure. Her long-term work as a director is recognized by the expert community as the foundation for the longevity of the program on Russian television.

Personal life

Since October 22, 1971, Svetlana Maslyakova has been married to TV presenter Alexander Vasilyevich Maslyakov. The couple lived together for more than fifty years, until Alexander Maslyakov's death on September 8, 2024. In 1980, the couple had a son, Alexander Alexandrovich Maslyakov. The Maslyakov family acted as a single creative and managerial tandem in the leadership of the AMiK television creative association and the KVN project.
