A Canadian citizen wanted to take a royal python out of the Netherlands, which was found in her bra before boarding a plane at Amsterdam airport. This was announced on July 16 by the press service of the Food and Consumer Goods Safety Authority (NVWA) of the country.

"The Canadian was not scared by the snake-boa constrictor. In the end, she tried to bring a spherical (another name for this type of reptile) aboard the plane. — Ed.) python in a bra. The protected snake was discovered during the inspection," they said in their post on the social network Instagram (owned by Meta, recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).

The tourist explained that she allegedly found this reptile right in her hotel, but this version aroused suspicion among the inspectors, who drew up a protocol and confiscated the find itself. The snake is currently staying in a special shelter.

NVWA recalled that it is impossible to take protected animals from their country "just like that."

On July 13, a Polish citizen tried to take rare lizards with a total value of over 5.5 million rubles to his homeland from Kaliningrad. It was noted that a total of 37 individuals belonging to an endangered species were found in the man's gym bags. A criminal case was opened against the foreigner in accordance with Part 1 of Article 226.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Smuggling of especially valuable wild animals").
