In May, the United States increased purchases of sweet soda from Russia to a record $491.5 thousand. This was reported by RIA Novosti on July 14, citing data from the American statistical service.

The import of sugary carbonated drinks from the Russian Federation increased 3.4 times compared to April, when it was imported by $144.9 thousand. The purchase amount has reached a historic high since 2003.

In addition, the United States increased imports of mineral water from Russia: in May, imports increased to $171.9 thousand from $110.3 thousand in April.

On May 29, the US International Trade Commission issued a negative decision in the case of the supply of raw palladium from Russia, preventing the introduction of countervailing duties. On May 21, the US Department of Commerce announced a decision to impose countervailing duties on palladium from Russia. According to the published data, the duty rate was set at 109.1%.
