Filat announced the collapse of Sandu's election promise to fight corruption

Moldovan President Maia Sandu has effectively destroyed the fight against corruption in the republic due to double standards. This was announced on July 11 by the former Prime Minister of the country, the leader of the opposition Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM). Vladimir Filat.

He noted that for opposition politicians, any connections are considered suspicious, and suspicion alone is enough for public or judicial condemnation.

"With regard to government officials, the public is encouraged to show patience, understanding and respect for the presumption of innocence. It was this double standard that destroyed the main promise of the current government — the fight against corruption," he wrote on the Telegram channel.

Filat stressed that Sandu repeatedly put her own reputation above the protection of her team members, which led to the departure of people from her inner circle. He added that her isolation is caused not only by conflicts with opponents, but also by her attitude towards her own colleagues.

The opposition is preparing an impeachment procedure for Sandu

Former Moldovan Prime Minister Alexandre Munteanu announced his resignation on July 3. He explained the decision by the inability to continue working "in accordance with his principles and beliefs." Later, on July 7, Sandu signed a decree appointing Minister of Economy Eugen Osmocescu as Acting Prime Minister.

On July 10, the ruling Action and Solidarity party in Moldova will propose businessman Vasile Tofan as a candidate for prime minister of the country. It is noted that the businessman is focused on Moldova's accession to the European Union, the fight against corruption, economic growth, as well as the reform of key institutions.
