The media learned about the discussion of the transfer of the S-400 from Turkey to the Persian Gulf country

Turkey and the United States are discussing the possibility of transferring S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems supplied by Ankara to one of the Persian Gulf countries. This was reported by the Turkish newspaper Hürriyet on July 7.

"It is necessary to find a formula acceptable to the United States on the issue of the S-400. Congress must be convinced," the publication says.

According to the publication, the S-400 issue remains one of the key obstacles in relations between Ankara and Washington. The purchase of the complexes previously caused the imposition of US sanctions under the CAATSA law and the exclusion of Turkey from the F-35 fighter production program.

The observer noted that in order for Turkey to return to participation in the F-35 program, several issues need to be resolved, including eliminating the effects of sanctions and finding a solution acceptable to the United States. One of the options being discussed, according to Hurriyet, could be the transfer of the S-400 to one of the Persian Gulf countries.

In addition to the S-400, the talks between Ankara and Washington may discuss the modernization of F-16 aircraft, the development of the Turkish KAAN fighter, as well as Turkey's role in the new NATO security architecture.
