The State Duma in the second reading adopted the draft on the extension of the "garage amnesty"

In the second reading, the State Duma adopted a bill extending the "garage amnesty" for another five years — until September 2031. This was announced on July 8 during a meeting of the lower house of parliament.

This mechanism has been in effect in Russia since September 1, 2021. It allows citizens to acquire ownership of capital garages and land plots under them in a simplified manner. Under certain conditions, the land under construction is provided to the owners free of charge.
