Most Americans are tired of politics intruding into all aspects of their lives. This is evidenced by the data of the Politico poll, published on July 5.

The survey showed that, on average, about 60% of Americans (both Republicans and Democrats) believe that politics has become too much in areas where it does not belong, including sports, social media, education, religion, and even personal conversations with loved ones. At the same time, supporters of the Republican Party are more concerned about this trend than Democrats.

"This is a rare case of agreement between Republicans and Democrats. Most representatives of both parties agree that celebrities' opinions about politics are becoming less important unless they align with their own," Politico reports.

Despite the negative attitude towards the level of politicization of society, the survey showed that Americans are very influenced by statements from representatives of various non-political spheres.

About one in five Americans admitted that they had changed their minds about a political issue due to a celebrity's statement on the subject. The vast majority of respondents (60% of Republicans, 70% of Democrats) also acknowledged that political statements by celebrities, athletes, or even local grocery store owners influence their opinion of these people.

A Reuters poll on June 23 showed that only one in four Americans believes that the fighting in Iran has paid off, and most citizens do not believe in the long-term truce. According to Reuters/Ipsos data, only 24% of Americans believe that the war with Iran has paid off. Half of the respondents said that the conflict was not worth it, while the rest were undecided. About 63% of Americans believe it is unlikely that the memorandum of understanding signed by US President Donald Trump on Iran will lead to lasting peace.
