Mironov proposed to introduce a pension consumer basket
On July 4, the leader of the Fair Russia party, Sergei Mironov, proposed introducing a separate consumer pension basket for calculating inflation and indexing pensions quarterly.
"Our party proposes to introduce a pension consumer basket as a separate indicator and use it to calculate pension inflation, which should be taken into account when indexing pensions," Mironov said, as quoted by RIA Novosti.
According to him, pension indexation should be carried out not once a year, but once a quarter.
Svetlana Bessarab, a member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs, noted on June 28 that pensions for working pensioners will be indexed taking into account up to three individual pension coefficients (IPCS) from August 1, 2026. It was clarified that the CPI is an indicator on which the size of the pension depends. The coefficients are calculated for each year of work or other activity necessary for calculating the pension. The cost of one coefficient is reviewed every year, and in 2026 it is 156.76 rubles.
