- Magyar announced the introduction of an amendment to parliament on the removal of the president
The Hungarian government has submitted to Parliament a draft of the 17th amendment to the constitution, which provides for the termination of the powers of President Tamas Shujok. This was announced on July 4 by Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar.
"On behalf of the government, I have submitted Constitutional Law 17 to Parliament. <...> The main points of the changes: <...> the abolition of the mandate of the current president of the republic," he wrote on his Facebook page (owned by Meta, which is recognized as extremist and banned in Russia).
According to the head of government, after the adoption of the amendment, the term of office of the current president will end. Magyar believes that Shujok cannot remain in office because, in his opinion, he did not perform his duties properly and contributed to abuses of power during the time of former Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
The prime minister also said that the preparation of a new constitution will begin in Hungary in the autumn, which is subsequently planned to be submitted to a national referendum. Before that, the authorities intend to amend the current basic law, including those concerning the head of state, she noted. "Газета.Ru ".
The Magyar Nemzet newspaper reported on June 30 that the excessively radical actions of the current Hungarian Prime Minister are causing concern in the West and may lead to the return to power of former Prime Minister Viktor Orban. The actions of the new prime Minister, which go beyond what is permitted, may jeopardize the plans of globalist structures regarding Hungary.
