Against the background of the successes of the Russian Armed Forces in the special military operation zone, Western countries may return to discussing the need for negotiations with Russia. This opinion was expressed by military expert Igor Viktyuk in an interview with Izvestia on July 4.

"What is the reason for our victory? The first and most important thing is the heroism of our servicemen. Secondly— the excellent work of the General Staff and managers at all levels. Third, we currently have technical superiority," Viktyuk said.

He added that after the liberation of Konstantinovka, Russian troops, in his assessment, began developing a new strategic operation related to advancing towards the Slavyansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration.

The military expert also stressed that a possible truce with Western countries, in his opinion, does not meet Russia's interests and can only be considered if there are legally established guarantees from Europe to prevent a repeat of previous confrontational actions.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on July 3 that Konstantinovka in the Donetsk People's Republic had completely come under the control of Russian troops. According to Peskov, Konstantinovka is an important settlement that the Ukrainian forces have turned into a large fortified area. He noted that, despite this, the city was completely liberated thanks to the heroism of the Russian fighters.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on the same day that the capture of Konstantinovka by the Russian Armed Forces was an important stage in the destruction of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kramatorsk-Slavyansk fortified area.
