The expert explained the reasons for the large discounts in UAE hotels in the summer

UAE hotels have started offering large summer discounts, but this measure is temporary and is associated not only with a seasonal decrease in demand, but also with the losses of the tourism industry in the spring. This was announced on July 3 by Kristina Tancyura, an expert on business development in the Middle East, CEO and managing partner of SKY Consulting Group, head of the Committee for work with the UAE and the Gulf States of the Association of Exporters and Importers.

According to her, summer discounts for hotels in the United Arab Emirates are a traditional practice, as the tourist flow is noticeably reduced during the hot months. However, this year the situation was aggravated by the events of the spring season: due to the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East, restrictions on flights and restrictions on the sale of tours to the Emirates in Russia until June, the number of tourists was significantly lower than expected.

"Now the hotels are trying to catch up. This is a temporary promotion, not a revision of the pricing policy. One should not expect such discounts to remain in high season," said Tancyura.

The expert stressed that the current proposals are aimed at attracting travelers during the traditional summer recession and partially compensating for losses incurred in March and April. According to her, with the start of the business season in October and November, hotels will return to their usual price levels, as demand will be generated by tourists from all over the world, not just from Russia.

Tancyura also noted that this practice has been operating in the Emirates for several years.
