- Rospotrebnadzor warned Russians returning from Bali about the risk of contracting dengue
Rospotrebnadzor recommended that Russians returning from Bali monitor their well-being, since dengue fever may be hiding under the guise of influenza. This was reported on July 3 in the press service of the department.
They noted that the resort areas of Bali remain at risk of contracting various airborne infections.
"The initial stages of dengue fever are practically indistinguishable from influenza. Since the beginning of 2026, more than 34 thousand cases of dengue fever have been registered in Indonesia, of which 81 are fatal," the Maks messenger says.
The agency also recalled the main preventive measures for travelers, including avoiding crowded places, using masks and antiseptics in public places, installing mosquito nets in residential areas, and avoiding trips to swampy areas.
Rospotrebnadzor reported on June 24 that 127 imported cases of dengue fever were registered in Russia in the first five months of 2026. The agency noted that there is no risk of dengue fever spreading in Russia, but it is possible that travelers arriving from endemic countries may import the disease.
