Biden's son jokingly nominated Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize
On July 2, the son of former US President Joe Biden, businessman Hunter Biden jokingly "nominated" the current American leader Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize.
"I am officially nominating Donald J. Trump. Trump's bid for the Nobel Peace Prize. No president in history has ended the same war so many times (talking about the war in Iran. — Ed.)," Biden wrote on his page on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
The son of the former US president referred to calculations by CNN, according to which Trump, in various formulations, announced the end of the war in the Middle East at least 38 times since its beginning. Biden Jr. added that no American president had ever achieved such a thing before and that Trump "is far from finished ending this war."
"This achievement is worthy of recognition. Thank you for your attention to this issue!" he said, concluding the post with a reference to Trump's favorite phrase.
In the comments, users, including Republicans, criticized Hunter Biden, recalling the scandal surrounding drug addiction. One of the commentators, in the style of Biden Jr., nominated him for the Sobriety of the Year award, emphasizing that "no one in history has ever announced his sobriety so many times." He also misinterpreted the businessman's words, writing that he had announced 38 times that he was getting rid of drug addiction.
"I'll do it 39 times! I'm definitely sober. Nobel, I'm coming," Biden retorted.
Trump said on June 4 that Hunter Biden could succeed in the Democratic presidential primary election in 2028. According to the American president, this is possible against the background of the support of other potential Democratic candidates.
In April, The New York Post reported that Biden Jr. is hiding in California from creditors who must pay more than $20 million. The businessman himself claims that he allegedly lives in South Africa, the homeland of his wife Melissa Cohen. At the same time, according to sources of the publication, in fact, he is located "in a luxurious estate" with an area of 8 thousand acres (more than 3.2 thousand hectares) in Santa Ynez, which is two hours north of Los Angeles.
