On July 2, Romanian Interior Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Kathleen Predoyu, in a conversation with Russian pranksters Vladimir Kuznetsov (Vovan) and Alexey Stolyarov (Lexus), said that Kiev should apologize for the incident with the Ukrainian unmanned boat (BEC) in the port of Constanta.

In an interview with an alleged Ukrainian colleague, the head of the Romanian Interior Ministry noted that the incident involving a drone in a Romanian port caused unrest in the society of the republic. He believes that Kiev should make an official apology for the incident.

"I think that your authorities are expected to make some kind of gesture of regret over this incident at the highest level, but this must be agreed between the two presidents," the Romanian minister told the pranksters.

At the same time, he assured that Bucharest would continue to support Kiev at the political level. He also stressed that Romania's policy of supporting Ukraine "will not change." At the same time, the minister acknowledged that Romanian citizens are demanding explanations from the authorities about the incident with the back.

"I don't want to hide the reality from you. This causes great emotions and anxiety, and we were amazed by the situation. And the public is putting a lot of pressure on government agencies. Both countries should make it clear at the highest level that this will never happen again. Then we must create a mechanism to prevent this," Predoyu stressed.

The minister also said that as a result of the explosion, civilian port infrastructure facilities, warehouses and logistics facilities were damaged. According to him, the damage turned out to be significant, since the explosive device's power was about 500 kg. This, he noted, "does not bring joy."

In addition, he said that the existing mechanism of interaction between the military of Ukraine and Romania on the day of the incident was not working effectively enough. According to him, the country is discussing the creation of a system that will automatically destroy backups when they enter the territorial waters of Romania.

On June 5, a Ukrainian fuel tank detonated in the port of Constanta, Romania. He was part of a group of five Ukrainian drones. Romania's acting Defense Minister Radu Mirutse asked Kiev to detonate its drones before entering Romanian waters.

On June 6, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova asked Romania about its plans to take action against Ukraine after the drone detonation incident. In particular, she asked when Bucharest was going to stop sponsoring Kiev.
