An organized criminal group (OCG) in Khanty-Mansiysk stole payments from participants in a special military operation (SVO) using bank employees. This was reported on June 30 in the regional directorate of the FSB in the Tyumen region.

"Employees of the Russian Federal Security Service for the Tyumen Region have collected materials that served as the basis for initiating criminal cases against an organized criminal group that stole funds paid to participants in a special military operation," the agency said in a statement. Ura.ru .

It will be clarified that the group included a member of the SVO, as well as bank employees. The investigation believes that the attackers issued applications on behalf of the fighters for the transfer of funds to the accounts of members of the criminal group.

Criminal cases have been initiated against the defendants under articles on theft committed by an organized group on an especially large scale, as well as on unauthorized access to computer information. They face up to 10 years in prison.

On May 27, the Ministry of Internal Affairs also reported that fraudsters had come up with a new scheme in which they fake photos of the tombstones of dead soldiers of their military. The personal data obtained is used to call relatives of the victims, allegedly with payments from the Ministry of Defense, and is also transferred to enemy intelligence agencies for information and psychological operations and destabilization of the situation in Russia.
