KAMAZ started producing parts for Chery engines
The production of trial batches of crankshafts for two-liter passenger car engines based on Chery concern models has begun in test mode at the KAMAZ blacksmith factory. This was announced on June 30 by Igor Masyalev, General Director of the blacksmith factory.
"Trial batches and crankshafts are currently being stamped for Chery, which has a local car manufacturing facility in Russia. As part of this project, a crankshaft for a four—cylinder engine with a volume of 2 liters has already been mastered and the design of die tooling for a 1.4-liter engine crankshaft has begun," Masyalev shared in an interview with Vesti KAMAZ.
According to the general director of the enterprise, the customers of the plant's products also include such large automobile companies as the Ural plant and the GAZ Group of companies, including the Yaroslavl Motor Plant, the Pavlovsky Bus Plant, and the Altai Precision Products Plant. The forgings that are supplied to these partners have the status of "serial production," he noted.
In April, AGR Holding announced the launch of a plant for the production of engines for passenger cars. The enterprise will become a base platform for providing engines for all car models produced at the joint plants of AGR and the Chinese Defetoo. AGR's portfolio includes four new brands — Tenet, Tenet Plus, Jeland and Esteo. These cars are based on models from the Chery group.
Yesterday, AGR Holding spoke about the characteristics of the Tenet Plus L6 mid-size crossover, which will be the brand's debut model and will be offered with both front- and all-wheel drive.
