The Ministry of Agriculture reported on the regular course of grain harvesting in Russia

The harvesting campaign in Russia is proceeding normally, despite the influence of weather factors in certain regions. This was announced on June 29 by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.

"Despite the continuing influence of weather factors in some regions, the harvesting campaign is proceeding normally. As the crops mature, the pace of work will increase," the ministry said in a statement on its website.

According to the ministry, the work was carried out on an area of 279.7 thousand hectares, 1.24 million tons of grain were harvested. The average yield is 44.5 hundredweight per hectare, which is one and a half times higher than on the same date last year.

It is emphasized that the high yield of grain crops in the current season is the result of the use of highly productive varieties and hybrids, high-quality seed material, the competent use of fertilizers and plant protection products, as well as the introduction of modern agricultural technologies.

It is expected that the resulting harvest will fully meet the domestic needs of the country and preserve the export potential of Russian grain.

In December 2025, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev said in an interview with Izvestia that the grain harvest in Russia should reach 170 million tons by 2030. He noted that the production of agricultural products will have to be increased by a quarter by this year. Currently, Russia holds a leading position in the world in terms of harvesting, with grain volumes consistently exceeding 120 million tons for seven years.
