Galuzin called unacceptable the approaches of France, Germany and Britain on Ukraine.
France, Germany and the United Kingdom have chosen the "language of ultimatums" on the topic of settlement in Ukraine, such an approach is unacceptable for Russia. This was announced on June 29 by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin.
According to the diplomat, Paris, Berlin and London are making statements on the Ukrainian crisis "in the spirit" of the meeting of the European countries with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.
"Unfortunately, [Europe's] approaches to the settlement are ultimatum-based and unacceptable to us. [Their statements] are excerpted <...> in the spirit of the so-called London statement by the three countries mentioned following their meeting with Zelensky. And, as a matter of fact, the attention of my interlocutors was drawn to the fact that the language of ultimatums, namely the language of the London statement on Russia, is a priori impassable and unacceptable [for Russia]," Galuzin said in an interview with RTVI, a fragment published on the Telegram channel of the media.
According to him, during the meeting with the heads of diplomatic missions of the three countries, the Russian side outlined its principled position on the settlement of the conflict. Galuzin called the conversation informative and noted that its results had been reported to the Kremlin.
The diplomat noted that Moscow considers it necessary to eliminate the root causes of the crisis, including threats to Russia's security from the western direction related to NATO activities through the territory of Ukraine. The Russian Deputy Foreign Minister also said that Russia stands for the restoration of the rights of the Russian-speaking population of Ukraine and the canonical Russian Orthodox Church.
On June 7, the leaders of the Eurotroika countries called for the active participation of European states and the United States in negotiations with Russia on ending the conflict in Ukraine. They also called for an immediate ceasefire and the start of negotiations based on the established line of contact. At the same time, Paris, Berlin and London opposed the forceful change of Ukraine's state borders.
The Eurotroika ambassadors arrived at the Russian Foreign Ministry on June 11. It was noted that all three were invited to a meeting with the Russian Galuzin. The press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry said on June 11 that at a meeting at the Russian Foreign Ministry, diplomats pointed out the destructiveness of their countries' approach to the conflict in Ukraine. During the conversation, Galuzin explained Moscow's approaches to finding ways to resolve the crisis. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov later said that foreign diplomats had essentially confirmed the ultimatum put forward by Russia in London.
