FSB detained a Ukrainian spy in Pology, Zaporizhia region
A resident of Pologi, Zaporizhia region, was detained for transferring data on the location of units of the Russian Armed Forces to the Ukrainian side. This was announced on June 29 by the regional directorate of the FSB of Russia.
The ministry explained that the detainee was monitoring the locations and movements of personnel and military equipment of the Russian Armed Forces. He transmitted the information through the Telegram messenger. The information obtained was used to plan acts of sabotage and terrorism and launch rocket and bomb attacks on Russian military positions.
"The suspect has been detained, the investigative department of the Federal Security Service of Russia in the Zaporozhye region has opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Article 276 of the Criminal Code of Russia (Espionage)," RIA Novosti reports.
The defendant was given a preventive measure in the form of detention. Currently, operational search measures and investigative actions are continuing. For committing this crime, the man faces imprisonment for up to 20 years.
Three residents of the Tomsk region, who spied on Russian military personnel in favor of the special services of Ukraine, were charged with treason on June 26. It is noted that the attackers, having colluded with the Ukrainian side, collected information for it about the soldiers of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, including those who died during a special military operation.
