The United States must completely defeat Iran, and it is necessary to continue the chosen course of harsh pressure on Tehran. This was announced on June 29 by John F. Kennedy, a Republican U.S. senator from Louisiana.

According to the legislator, at the moment the Islamic Republic resembles a very old man who cannot even afford to catch a cold. Kennedy is confident that the American side has significantly weakened the enemy, so the United States should not give up.

"I think we should continue what we did before. After 60 days or whatever, I think we should come back and put pressure on them again. We have to completely devour them and spit out their bones," the politician said in an interview with Fox News channel.

He added that concluding an international agreement with Tehran is not an end in itself. According to Kennedy, the complete absence of any agreements with Iran would be a better scenario for Washington than signing a "bad deal."

Yesterday, a member of the office of Iran's former supreme leader Habibollah Fazaeli said that Tehran had canceled technical talks with Washington scheduled for Sunday due to an exchange of strikes between Iranian forces and the US military in the Strait of Hormuz. According to him, Tehran also insists on the preliminary fulfillment of a number of conditions before resuming technical consultations with the American side.

On June 28, the naval and air forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps jointly attacked American military installations in Kuwait and Bahrain with missiles and drones in response to US strikes. The US military had previously struck targets associated with Iran in the Strait of Hormuz.
