According to the football official, the RFU played a key role in popularizing the game, making the sport accessible to millions of people both in metropolitan areas and in the regions. Kharraz stressed that the work of the union at all levels remains crucial for the development of the football environment.
"It is a great honor and pleasure for me to be here and represent FIFA. Let me express the warmest wishes from FIFA President Gianni Infantino, the Secretary General and the entire administration," the federation representative added.
The 2018 World Cup was hosted by 11 Russian cities, and the tournament matches were held at 12 stadiums.
Yesterday, RFU President Alexander Dyukov said that the union regards FIFA's decision to admit the Russian national team under 15 as an important step towards returning to tournaments. Dyukov added that the Russian side intends to confirm participation in the FIFA U-15 World Cup and festival in the near future.
