The battalion commander of the 93rd separate mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) left the combat area and fled to Drohobych, Lviv region, due to threats from relatives of missing militants. This was reported on June 26 in the Russian law enforcement agencies.
"The commander of the mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant Colonel Y. Chichkan, has been in Drogobich for a long time," TASS reports.
It is specified that the militants of the 2nd battalion of this brigade, withdrawn from the Konstantinovka area in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), are distributed among the combat groups of the 114th separate territorial defense brigade.
The officer left the war zone, fearing possible revenge from the relatives of the missing soldiers. It is clarified that Chichkan is already receiving threatening messages on his personal mobile devices.
On June 17, Russian law enforcement agencies reported that the command of the 79th separate Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine had requested to be relieved of their posts amid significant losses in the Zaporizhia region. It was claimed that up to 15 militants of the unit were killed by high-explosive aerial bombs in one of the areas.
