The State Duma predicted the rollback of Ukraine to the 17th century after the Russian Federation's response to Sevastopol

Ukraine will "plunge into the 17th century" after the military response of the Russian Armed Forces to the attacks of the Ukrainian army on Crimea and Sevastopol, as a result of which the city was left without electricity. This was announced on June 24 by State Duma Deputy Mikhail Sheremet.

"Of course, the Crimeans will cope, the Crimeans have already passed all the stages of the energy blockade, we will not be intimidated by this. But Kiev must remember that it will answer not only for Sevastopol, but for the whole of Russia," the parliamentarian emphasized in an interview with Gazeta.Ru».

According to Sheremet, after the Ukrainian attacks on the peninsula, a military response will be inevitable. He indicated that Russian military personnel would continue intensive strikes on Ukrainian energy facilities.

"There is no doubt that [Ukraine's] energy system will continue to be monotonously, methodically broken and destroyed. There is no doubt that Ukraine will plunge at least into the XVII – XVIII centuries," he said.

The regional authorities have banned the booking and accommodation of schoolchildren in camps and hotels until the end of the summer.

The governor of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhaev, said on the same day that two civilians had been injured as a result of the Ukrainian Armed Forces attack on the city. According to him, several apartment buildings in Sevastopol were damaged — windows were broken and balconies were damaged.

The press service of Krymenergo, in turn, reported that power outages due to grid disruptions occurred in several cities and districts of the peninsula. Electricity was lost in Yevpatoria, Saki, Yalta, Alushta, Simferopol and Dzhankoy, as well as in the territory of the Saki, Dzhankoy, Simferopol, Bakhchisarai, Belogorsky and Krasnogvardeysky districts.
