On June 22, Switzerland will host expert-level negotiations on the mechanisms for implementing the memorandum between the United States and Iran and the creation of relevant committees. This was reported by the Iranian ISNA news agency.

"Today, on Monday, technical talks between Iran and the United States on the mechanisms for implementing the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding and the formation of appropriate technical groups will be held in Switzerland under the chairmanship of [Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem] Gharibabadi," the agency wrote on its Telegram channel.

On the same day, the Iranian Foreign Ministry announced that the work of the Iranian delegation at the talks with the United States in Switzerland had been completed. According to the statement, the parties have prepared the basis for the start of discussions on the final agreement.

On June 21, American leader Donald Trump threatened Iran with destruction if the Strait of Hormuz was not opened, and with new attacks on it due to the alleged activity of pro-Iranian groups in Lebanon. The relevant statements were made by him at the time when the American-Iranian negotiations were held in Switzerland with the participation of the delegations of Qatar and Pakistan.

The speaker of the Iranian Parliament and the chief negotiator of the Iranian delegation, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, noted on the same day that the United States needs to be careful in its statements. At the same time, he stressed that Tehran does not take Washington's threats into account.
