46 aftershocks occurred in Kamchatka during the week
46 seismic events were recorded in Kamchatka during the period from June 15 to June 21. This was announced on June 22 by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Kamchatka Territory.
"In seven days, from June 15 to June 21, 46 seismic events were registered, four of which were felt in certain areas of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky with a force of up to four points," the message in the Maks messenger says.
It is specified that during one of the tremors, a tsunami threat was declared. Weak waves were predicted to approach the coast of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Urban District (0.06 m), Ust-Kamchatsk (0.25 m) and Nikolsky village (0.38 m), but it was not confirmed — no tsunami was observed off the coast of Kamchatka.
On June 20, the Kamchatka branch of the Federal Research Center of the Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences reported that an earthquake of magnitude 5.7 was recorded in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Kamchatka. It was noted that the seismic event occurred at a distance of 171 km from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
