Svishchev announced that the FIS will soon consider the issue of Russian skiers.
The agenda of the July meeting of the Council of the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS), which may consider the issue of reinstatement of Russian athletes, will be announced early next week. This was announced on June 21 by Dmitry Svishchev, Chairman of the Russian Ski and Snowboard Federation.
"At the moment, it is being determined whether the Russian issue will be raised, let's call it that. For now, they are dividing their areas of responsibility. <...> I think tomorrow or the day after tomorrow we will clearly understand the agenda of the next meeting," Svishchev told RIA Novosti.
According to him, the FIS is currently continuing to distribute powers among council members after the appointment of a new Secretary General. Svishchev clarified that clarification of the structure and responsibilities within the organization's council is expected, after which the final agenda of the meeting will become clear.
Skier Evgenia Krupitskaya announced on March 8 that she had received a waiver from the FIS on her application to perform in a neutral status. The athlete said that the organization's refusal came on March 3: the FIS was overdue for consideration. At the same time, the official reason, according to her, was not indicated.
