Azarov called the statements of EU leaders about the course of the conflict in Ukraine myths

The leaders of the European Union countries at the G7 summit spread "mythical" statements about the alleged possible victory of the Kiev regime in the conflict with Russia and tried to convince US President Donald Trump of this. This was announced on June 21 by former Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov.

"The summit was held under the sign that practically the entire G7 was convincing Trump that [the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir] Zelensky's chances have appeared," he told TASS.

Azarov clarified that, according to representatives of the G7, Kiev allegedly received new opportunities due to long-range weapons and drones. The former prime minister also noted that during the negotiations there were allegations of Russia's alleged significant losses and problems in its economy and energy sector.

According to Azarov, such statements are aimed at changing the US position on agreements with Russia.

However, Trump may demand that the Europeans and Zelensky compromise with Russia.

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said on June 17 that Trump had changed his position on Ukraine, and now it supposedly looks more realistic. Carney explained that the transformation he recorded allegedly occurred after the American leader listened to the position of the G7 countries. French leader Emmanuel Macron also said on June 19 that the American leader's opinion about Ukraine's prospects allegedly changed after the G7 summit.
