Tehran will take retaliatory measures if Washington refuses to fulfill its obligations under the previously signed memorandum. This was announced on June 20 by the representative of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Esmail Bagai.

"If the enemy refuses to fulfill its obligations or sabotages their fulfillment, the Islamic Republic of Iran, relying on its strategic capabilities, will definitely take retaliatory measures," Tasnim news agency quoted him as saying on the Telegram channel.

Bagai noted that the memorandum of understanding was concluded after several weeks of intensive negotiations with the participation of international mediators. According to him, Iran intends to pursue the implementation of all provisions of the agreement.

On the same day, the Iranian Foreign Ministry demanded that the United States urgently take action against Israel.

US Vice President Jay Dee Vance said on June 20 that he was confident in the strength of the truce between Washington and Tehran. He also confirmed that US President Donald Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff and businessman Jared Kushner have already arrived in Switzerland to participate in negotiations with Iran.

On June 17, the United States and Iran signed a memorandum on the cessation of hostilities. The American president then stressed that the United States would resume bombing Iran if the final agreement specified in the memorandum was not reached within 60 days.
