- The Brazilian president joked about Neymar's non-participation in the matches of the national team at the World Cup
Brazilian national team President Lula da Silva joked on June 19 about the non-participation of Brazil national football team striker Neymar in matches at the FIFA World Cup, calling him a "retired footballer."
"Neymar? He's not playing at all right now! Yesterday I saw a joke on the Internet that Neymar is the first football player in the world to be called up to the national team on a remote basis. The player is retired!" the media organization Eixo Politico quoted the president as saying on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
Lula da Silva added that, in his opinion, with the further development of the situation, one day the Brazilian national team can be formed with the help of artificial intelligence and put "11 Pele" on the field. It is clarified that Neymar has already missed the first round of the World Cup without playing against Morocco. The match ended with a score of 1:1, adds "Газета.Ru ".
The coach of the Brazilian team, Carlo Ancelotti, announced on June 12 that Neymar would not play in the first match of his national team at the World Cup. It was noted that the 34-year-old Brazilian continues to recover from an injury to his right calf muscle, which he sustained in a match for Santos in mid-May.
