The Ministry of Education of Russia will change the high school curriculum in 2027. This was announced on June 20 by the head of the department Sergey Kravtsov.

"The updated federal state educational standard for secondary general education will come into force on September 1, 2027," he told RIA Novosti.

According to Kravtsov, updating the content of education is aimed at making learning more applied and relevant to modern requirements. It clarifies that students will be able to choose the basic level of study of all subjects, whereas previously it was mandatory to study at least two disciplines in depth.

He also noted that programs in mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology will become more practice-oriented, and skills in working with artificial intelligence technologies will be included in the list of meta-subject results.

On June 19, Kravtsov announced that the Arabic language learning program in Russian schools had been approved and would begin operating on September 1, 2026. The Russian Minister of Education recalled the exchange of students between the Russian Federation and the UAE, as well as the preparation of Emirati children for the Physics Olympiads by domestic experts.
