Two passenger trains collided in British Bedford
Two passenger trains collided in the area of the British city of Bedford, which led to serious injuries to people on board. This was announced on June 19 by the British Transport Police.
"We are responding to reports of a collision between two trains in the Bedford area. We will provide additional information as soon as possible," the message on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
According to The Daily Telegraph, the Luton Airport Express crashed into the back of an East Midlands Railway train en route from Nottingham to London. The incident occurred about four kilometers south of Bedford Station.
Five air ambulance helicopters, a police helicopter and more than 30 emergency vehicles are working at the scene.
"The front of the train is fine, the third carriage has derailed. I'm fine, but my legs are covered in blood and I was stabbed in the back. The other [passengers] are not so well," one of the passengers on the train told the newspaper.
In China, at the end of May, 13 people died as a result of an overloaded bus colliding with a truck. The collision occurred on a stretch of road in Nanyang City. At the time of the accident, there were 16 people in a nine-passenger minibus.
