The dog handler named the reasons for the difficulty of socializing the dog
The president of the Russian Cynological Federation, Vladimir Golubev, explained what can prevent a dog from socializing. In an interview with Radio 1 on Friday, June 19, the specialist noted that the socialization of a dog is not limited to communication with other animals.
According to him, it is a mistake to assume that it is enough just to bring a pet into the company of relatives and wait until it gets used to it. Any acquaintance requires gradual preparation. The specialist noted that an important part of socialization is getting to know the sounds of the outside world. The puppy should gradually get used to the noise of transport, thunderstorms, household appliances and other irritants.
At the same time, it is important for the owner to remain calm and encourage the pet for confident behavior. Equally important are new surfaces and textures. Grass, sand, trellises, forest paths and other coverings cause different sensations in dogs, so the animal should be gradually introduced to them.
In addition, the puppy needs to be taught that people can look different. Unusual clothes, umbrellas, hats, or sudden movements can frighten a pet if it has not encountered them before. The expert also recommended that the dog be prepared in advance for visits to the veterinarian: to teach him to calmly respond to the examination of paws, ears and teeth, as well as to other necessary manipulations.
Earlier, on June 8, Vladimir Golubev told RT that without timely help with heat stroke, the dog's life may be in danger. Large and elderly dogs, as well as puppies, are especially hard to bear the heat. The classic symptoms of heat stroke are rapid breathing, protruding tongue, and drooling. 360.ru . First aid always involves immediately moving the dog to a cool place.
Before that, in June, Golubev explained the reasons for the dogs' escape from the suburban areas. According to him, dog owners often relax in the country and pay less attention to the safety of their pets, considering the fenced area to be reliable protection. However, this is what often causes animal escapes.
In March, Vladimir Urazhevsky, a dog handler and veterinarian, reminded NSN that it is possible to treat a pet from ticks with spray, drops or a long-acting pill, and this must be done. You should also carefully examine your pet after a walk and monitor his well-being.
