In Surgut, two underage girls decided to swim in a pond and drowned. This was announced on June 17 by a source of Izvestia.

"They went into the water and didn't come out. Relatives were sitting on the shore, not looking at it," the source said.

The incident occurred in the holiday village of Berendey. A criminal case has been opened into the incident under Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Causing death by negligence").
