Two-time world figure skating champion Evgenia Medvedeva announced on June 12 that she had undergone foot surgery.

"I'm fine! I have been planning this operation for a long time," the athlete wrote on her Instagram page (owned by Meta, which is recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).

The figure skater added that she now faces a long recovery period and noted that "she will heal before the wedding." In addition, she posted a photo from her hospital bed.
