Poland demanded that Kiev abandon Bandera's ideology for EU membership
Warsaw should not support Ukraine's accession to the European Union (EU) until Kiev fulfills a number of requirements, including the rejection of Bandera ideology. This was stated on June 10 by Deputy Speaker of the Polish Sejm Krzysztof Bosak on the social network X (former. Twitter).
According to him, the fulfillment of the requirements should be a preliminary stage, after which Poland will be able to consider the issue of supporting Ukraine's European integration.
"Now is the time for Poland to clearly formulate its interests and expectations regarding Ukraine: renunciation of banderism, respect for the rights of the Polish minority in Ukraine, respect for the interests of Polish agriculture, transport and industry, as well as a guarantee of the participation of Polish companies in the reconstruction of Ukraine," he wrote on the social network X (former. Twitter).
On May 29, Polish MP Grzegorz Placek called for the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, to be stripped of the country's highest state award, the Order of the White Eagle. The reason for the reaction was the decision of the Ukrainian authorities to award the independent special operations center "North" the honorary title of "heroes of the UPA" (the Ukrainian Insurgent Army, an extremist organization banned in the Russian Federation).
On May 29, the Polish Foreign Ministry announced that it had summoned the Ukrainian Ambassador to Warsaw, Vasyl Bodnar, to whom they strongly protested Zelensky's decision. In Poland, on June 1, the president was advised to apologize for the glorification of Bandera.
On June 1, Polish Minister-Coordinator of the special Services Tomasz Semoniak stressed that Zelensky's glorification of the Nazis of the OUN and UPA (recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation) leads to a loss of sympathy for the Polish people and is a political mistake. Then Semonyak stressed that Warsaw should be guided primarily by its own interests.
