The climber called the only way to evacuate Nagovitsyna's body from Victory Peak
The only way to evacuate the body of Russian climber Natalia Nagovitsina from Victory Peak in Kyrgyzstan is to descend by rescuers. This was announced on June 11 by Andrey Borisov, an instructor and guide in mountaineering and mountain tourism.
According to him, at the peak of Victory, there is no such helicopter technology that is used in the Himalayas, and there is also no experience in lifting large heavy helicopters to a similar height.
"Therefore, the only option here is for Natalia's body to be lowered by rescuers and human resources," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
Borisov also said that he himself saw the evacuation of the victim from a height of 7 thousand meters. m in the third camp on the Everest climbing route. According to him, to do this, the most lightweight helicopter with a small amount of fuel rises to the required height, waits for the victim to be secured on a rope and quickly leaves for the base camp.
Denis Kiselyov, a rescuer and teacher at the Central School of Mountaineering Instructors, said on January 21 that rescuers would not be able to reach Nagovitsyna at Victory Peak in Kyrgyzstan until the summer. He noted that the rest of the time, extreme conditions prevail at the summit: gale-force winds and high avalanche danger.
The fact that the Russian woman was stuck at the peak of Victory became known on August 19, 2025. She broke her leg during the descent and stayed at altitude for several weeks. On September 2, Chairman of the Kyrgyz Mountaineering Federation Eduard Kubatov announced the termination of the rescue operation.
