Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on June 10 that the agreement between Canada and Ukraine on the production of drones (UAVs) for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on Canadian territory indicates a "qualitatively new level of involvement" of Ottawa in the Ukrainian conflict. In response, Moscow intends to make public the addresses and information about the relevant industries. All the details are in the Izvestia article.

Assessment of Canada's involvement in the conflict

Speaking at a briefing, Zakharova stressed that the Ukrainian-Canadian agreement on the production of UAVs, signed at the end of May, represents a new level of Ottawa's involvement in the conflict.

"Canada, as we can see, has moved to a qualitatively new level of involvement in the Ukrainian crisis. All masks have been discarded, and the whole essence has been revealed, not of a peace—loving state, but of a warmonger who seeks to fuel this bloodiest conflict in every way," she said.

Prior to that, on May 29, Russian Ambassador to Canada Oleg Stepanov also stated that these agreements were a manifestation of Ottawa's anti-Russian policy and indicated its desire to "fuel the conflict in order to earn extra money from it." According to the diplomat, Russia will take these changes into account in its military and political planning.

Production data publication plan

Zakharova stressed that Moscow reserves the right to an adequate response and will take into account new circumstances. As a specific measure, the Russian side plans to release information on the location of drone production facilities for the Armed Forces in Canada.

"We will definitely post the relevant addresses of all these industries in Canada. People should know," the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry assured.

In April, the Russian Ministry of Defense already published the names and addresses of 21 European companies involved in the production of UAVs for Ukraine. Production facilities are based in major European countries, including the UK, Germany, Poland, Italy and the Czech Republic. The list includes both branches and foreign companies that produce specialized components.

Details of the Canadian-Ukrainian agreement

At the end of May, the Government of Canada officially announced the signing of an agreement with the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine to support the production of Ukrainian unmanned systems in Canada. As part of the agreement, the Airlogix-Sentinel joint venture is being created, which was founded by the Ukrainian defense technology company Airlogix and the Canadian UAV developer Sentinel Research and Development.

According to the Canadian government, from February 2022 to May 2026, Ottawa's aid to Kiev exceeded $25.5 billion. Of these, $8.5 billion was spent on military products. For the financial period 2026-2027, it is planned to transfer another $2 billion from the Canadian side.
