The Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation has no plans to reduce or increase the duration of schooling. This was announced on June 9 by Deputy head of the department Vladimir Zhelonkin.

"The Ministry of Education currently has the position that 11 years is the best option. Accordingly, so far there are no ideas to reduce or increase the number of years of study," he told RIA Novosti.

Zhelonkin noted that the ministry intends to continue to improve the education system and federal state standards within the established 11 years.
