The pre-election campaign for the parliamentary elections in Armenia was conducted with pressure on the opposition, including arrests and detentions of activists. This was announced on June 8 by the special coordinator of the OSCE short-term observation mission, Farah Karimi, during a press conference on the results of the work.

"The election campaign was accompanied by divisive rhetoric and accusations of voter bribery, as well as accusations of other election violations," she is quoted as saying on the website of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.

Karimi added that the observers were concerned about the pressure on government officials to participate in government meetings. On this day, the leader of the Strong Armenia party, Samvel Karapetyan, announced possible fraud and pressure on the opposition in the parliamentary elections. Also the agency News.am With reference to the Investigative Committee (IC) of the country, it was reported that 59 criminal proceedings have been initiated in Armenia on the facts of electoral crimes. According to the Investigative Committee, the largest number of criminal proceedings is related to Article 214 of the Criminal Code of Armenia ("Voting more than once or instead of another person"), 30 cases have been initiated into these violations.
