Lukashenko brought bread according to wartime recipes to Moscow for Victory Day
During his visit to Moscow on May 9, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko brought bread baked according to wartime recipes. This was announced on June 2 by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting of the Council for the Implementation of State Policy in the field of support for the Russian language and the languages of the peoples of Russia.
According to Putin, the Belarusian leader brought samples of bread made according to recipes used during the Great Patriotic War.
"[Lukashenko] brought with him war—time bread baked according to recipes of that time in Stalingrad, Leningrad and other regions of the former Soviet Union," the Russian president noted.
Putin said that he was interested in trying the bread that was baked in Moscow and Stalingrad during the war years. In his opinion, such a product has a special historical and symbolic significance.
On May 8, Putin clarified that Russian-Belarusian relations are even deeper and stronger than in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). Moscow and Minsk, he added, always have something to talk about in current issues related to the economic and social spheres.
On April 20, Lukashenko called relations with Putin fraternal. According to the Belarusian president, the Russian leader wants to see him and be friends with him. At the same time, Lukashenko is happy to maintain such relations with Putin.
