Lebanon's losses from the war with Israel have exceeded $20 billion and could reach $25 billion if hostilities continue. This was reported on June 2 by Al Jazeera TV channel.

"Lebanese Finance Minister Yassin Jaber said that the losses from the war exceeded $20 billion," the publication says.

According to the Minister, the full scale of economic and social damage will be clear only after the end of hostilities and the return of refugees to the destroyed areas.

On June 2, US President Donald Trump announced that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and representatives of Hezbollah had agreed to stop the shelling following talks with both sides. The American leader expressed the hope that the agreement between the two sides would last "forever."

The Axios portal added that in a telephone conversation with Netanyahu on June 1, Trump sharply criticized his actions in the Middle East, calling the Israeli prime minister "crazy." It was noted that the President was concerned about the large number of civilian deaths, as well as the destruction of entire buildings.
