- The OP of the Russian Federation clarified the rules for leaving schoolchildren for the second year
It is impossible to leave a student for re-education without parental consent, with the exception of graduating grades, while the term "for the second year" does not officially exist in the legislation. Evgeny Masharov, a member of the commission of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, told about this on May 31.
"There is no legal concept of "staying for a second year" in the current legislation, there is a concept of "re-education". A prerequisite for leaving a student for re—education is the written consent of the parents, provided that the class is not graduation (4th, 9th and 11th. — Ed.). If the parents are against it, the school administration has no right to send the student for re—education," Masharov told RIA Novosti.
In the final grades, according to the law "On Education in the Russian Federation", students who have not mastered the basic educational programs are not allowed to study at the following levels. At the discretion of their parents, they are left for re-education, transferred to adapted programs or to study according to an individual curriculum.
The expert stressed that neither teachers, nor the administration, nor parents are interested in the appearance of second-year students.
On May 29, Russian Minister of Education Sergey Kravtsov said that the Unified State Exam (USE) in Russia remains one of the most objective systems for assessing students' knowledge in the world. Successful completion of the Unified State Exam does not necessarily require tutoring. As an example, he cited a graduate of previous years who scored 400 points on the exams. According to the minister, regular studies, independent homework and high motivation to acquire knowledge helped him achieve this result.
