Moscow schoolchildren interested in the exact sciences were invited to participate in the Engineers of the Universe project. This was reported on May 26 on the website of the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin. mos.ru .
It is specified that in the summer they will receive free online training, in which they will master the basics of satellite engineering, working with data from orbit and spacecraft control.
"The main goal of the program is to give high school students the opportunity not only to study space in theory, but also to gain real—world experience working with advanced technologies. The best team of young engineers will be able to visit Russia's newest Vostochny cosmodrome in the Amur Region," the press service of the Moscow Department of Education and Science noted.
From June to August, the online course "Space-first Class" will also be held, where students will learn how to receive and analyze satellite data and understand the basic principles of spacecraft control. Registration is required to participate, and students in grades 10-11 of Moscow schools can join.
The best participants who have successfully completed the online quiz will be invited to face-to-face classes in the fall, where they will be able to work in teams, assemble antennas and test equipment. Based on the results of the selection, the winners will be determined, who will go to the Vostochny cosmodrome and get acquainted with the work of industry specialists.
On May 21, Sobyanin congratulated Moscow schoolchildren on their success at the All—Russian Olympiad - they won a record number of diplomas. According to him, the participants demonstrated excellent results in all 24 subjects in which intellectual competitions are held. Muscovites have won almost 2,000 awards, including 354 winners and 1,618 prize—winners.
