Police Major General Alexei Makarov appointed new Deputy Interior Minister

Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev introduced the new Deputy Interior Minister of the Russian Federation, Police Major General Alexei Makarov, to the staff. This was announced on May 26 by the official representative of the department, Irina Volk, in the Maks messenger.

Also, by decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Police Colonel General Vitaly Shulika was appointed Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation and relieved of a similar position in the Interior Ministry.

Makarov has been working in the internal affairs bodies since 1993. At the same time, he began his career in the Interior Ministry system as a traffic police inspector on the Moscow Police Department special highway. Since 1999, he has served in the Main Traffic Police Department.

In addition, since 2017, Makarov has been involved in the logistics of the Moscow police garrison. For the past four years, he has held the position of Deputy Chief of the Central Command, Chief of the rear.
